COMMITTED TO MISSIONS
Every year our church Board of Directors prayerfully considers how we can impact the community near us, around us, and beyond us. Our church is committed to investing at least 10% of our regular tithes and offerings to making a difference in our community. These funds are distributed to our missions partners. You can see our 2020 missions partners below:
EVERY 8 SUNDAYS
We use GIVING JARS as a reminder to save change and extra cash, and to pray for our missions partners. Then, every eight weeks, we bring these jars in and add them to our missions offering for distribution. This year's 8th SUNDAYS are JAN 5, MAR 1, APR 26, JUN 21, AUG 16, OCT 11, and DEC 6.
We support and give to the Assemblies of God District Office, which in turn gives to missionaries around the globe through their Speed the Light program.
Our church houses the leadership team and efforts of the Chi Alpha campus ministries for Macomb Community College's south campus. Their mission is to reconcile students to Christ, equipping them through Spirit-filled communities of prayer, worship, discipleship and mission to transform their campus, marketplace, and the world.
Westwood is a highly regarded public K-5 school right next door to our church, serving more than 500 students. In the past our church has purchased brand new books for the school's literacy program, and donated to help purchase new laptops for their fifth grade classes. We also deliver gifts and resources for the teachers.
Vision HOPE serves children whom are abused, neglected, and abandoned through community outreach programs and the Champions for Life summer camp to help them experience hope and love, often for the first time in their lives. Our church supports them through giving, volunteering at their summer camp, and supporting their annual fundraising dinner.
Our church directly supports Phil and Karli Dauernheim, missionaries to Hamtramck, MI, through their partnership with YWAM Detroit. Their efforts are directly with immigrants to assist with acclimation within the region's culture, ESL classes, and personal ministry.
