we "get to" give!
Our heart posture when it comes to giving is not that we "have to" give. God doesn't need our money; God's Word says that he "owns the cattle on a thousand hills" (Psalm 50:10). We believe that we "get to" give!
Why give? In the Old Testament, God commanded his people to give a mere 10% percent, or a "tithe" (Numbers 18:26). The tithe was a small act of obedience with big effects, especially when it came to matters of the heart. God has always, ever been after our heart! God's people would also give offerings that went above and beyond the tithe. God is pleased with these acts of worship.
God never guilts us into giving. God's Word says, "Each one of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsions, for God loves a cheerful giver." (2 Corinthians 9:7 NIV)
At The Life Church we desire to be generous, cheerful givers, a reflection of the generosity that we ourselves have received from God. In return, we pledge to honor God with the gifts that have been given by his people in this house.
We provide yearly contribution letters for those who choose not to tithe anonymously. We also practice transparency in our church finances, including a record of our income and expenses that is shared at our yearly Annual Business Meeting. See our bylaws link at the bottom of this page for more information.
